I'm motivational, encouraging and enthusiastic. Success for me is seeing others achieving their goals. I push myself physically and mentally and any opportunity to be outdoors, I’m there!! I thrive when challenges are placed in front of me and I won’t stop until I achieve them. Developing new skills and techniques are important to enhance my own training and others I coach. If I can pass on some of my knowledge to help others in their journeys, then I have achieved something great.
I’ve been in the industry for 17yrs. I started coaching martial arts in 2003. I hold 4th Degree Black belt in Taekwondo and competed internationally for the British National and Cypriot National teams from 1995 - 2000. I also hold a 1st Degree Black sash in Wing Chun Kungfu and have been dedicated to this martial art for over 15yrs. Class instruction qualifications include spin cycling, level 3 PT, Nutrition prescription and even becoming a regional NVQ assessor to the leisure industry. For the past 6yrs have been doing group outdoor fitness.
We all lead busy hectic lives and rarely find time for our own personal growth, development and wellbeing. We must make time, even if it is 30mins of moderate exercise, meditation, stretching, relaxation per day. It enables us to balance, regroup and go again.
Fitness is many things to many people, and I like to bring focus to the mental health benefits of outdoor group exercise and making sure you smile at least once during a session is key!
I can't emphasise enough how important exercise and physical activity is for our mental wellbeing. From a gentle walk, to gardening, a half marathon, or an Atlas bootcamp class - I believe exercise will help your mood, lift your spirits and generally improve your overall wellbeing. It's why I do what I do and what inspired me to start.
I have personally trained in group fitness for several years and participated in many gym and indoor sessions. I am a keen golfer and try to get out once a week for fun and the occasional competition. As a fitness professional I have experience leading outdoor group fitness classes and I am a level 2 Fitness Instructor. I like to specialise in group fitness activities with a focus on bootcamp and bodyweight training.
Having fun and taking focus away from day to day living for time dedicated to yourself is hugely important. The time we can focus on ourselves and have some fun is what drives us to keep developing our sessions every week.
I am a glass half full, enthusiastic and determined person. I love encouraging people to try new things and this is something I also push myself to do. I love being outside running, walking the dog or training. I enjoy something that challenges me including Bouldering and cycling and anything adventurous. I have been incredibly fortunate and have always participated in sport and/or fitness including football and swimming, but I was a competitive Gymnast for 15years. I only started 'fitness' training as a means to maintain my ability after retiring from competitive sport. Its also where I found my passion and motivation to support others to do the same.
I have been in the athletic industry for 15years and started coaching Gymnastics in 2008. I started training in outdoor group sessions in 2009 and have also enjoyed Body Combat and Gym based exercises. In 2016 I entered my first road event and have since completed 5km, 10km half and full marathon events! I am an outdoor group exercise instructor and qualified run leader.
It's OK to be a beginner. I know it doesn't always feel like it but everyone was once a beginner and the only difference between those who we now look at admiringly is consistency and determination. It's amazing to learn new things and challenge ourselves mentally and physically and that can be scary! But you can do it and it doesn't matter if you are faster or slower- you are still achieving!
I literally love training, especially outdoors!
I’m always happiest when I’m running on the trails, but I love all things fitness related , fast cars and motorbikes and tattoos. I’m someone that loves pushing myself when I train and I try and use that mindset to help the people that I train and coach to achieve more than they thought they could.
I have been training properly now for twenty plus years. I’ve always had an interest in the gym and fitness. I started training in mixed martial arts and Krav Maga then moved into Military Fitness, Bootcamps and OCR . I’ll literally try and do anything fitness or sport related.
Be stronger than your excuses. It's ok to have days that don't go the way we planned and to eat the cake and not do the workout. But, finding the balance and challenging those excuses because we know we will be better for it, mentally and physically, is what matters.
